Orange County Unclaimed Checks: Search the List Before the Sept. 1 Deadline

The Orange County Clerk of Courts is asking residents, businesses and organizations to check whether they are owed money from one of about 9,100 uncashed checks.

The checks range from 1 cent to $10,000 and may include vendor payments, refunds, restitution and cash bonds.
 

Who may have unclaimed money?

You could be on the list if you:

• Received a refund that was never deposited.

• Were owed restitution in an Orange County court case.

• Moved before a check arrived.

• Operated a business or organization that was issued a payment.

• Forgot about an old cash bond or vendor check.

The Clerk’s Office says many checks were mailed but never cashed because recipients changed addresses or overlooked the payment.

Visit the official Orange County unclaimed checks search page and search your name or business. You can also view the complete unclaimed checks list.

If you find a possible match, follow the online instructions to submit a claim. For questions, call the Orange County Clerk’s Office at 407-836-2200.
 

Sept. 1 deadline

You must submit your claim by September 1, 2026. Under Florida law, money that remains unclaimed after the deadline will be forfeited and transferred to the Clerk’s Fine and Forfeiture Fund.

If you do not find your name on the county list, you can also search Florida’s wider unclaimed property database for money held by the state.
